Disney Frozen & Olaf's Frozen Adventure Toy Review

December 4, 2017

Today we look at the some very awesome Disney Frozen toys that were kindly sent to us by Hasbro to review. We have the brand new Snack Time Surprise Olaf, the new Musical Elsa from the New Frozen Mini “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” and the Play-a-Melody Gown Elsa doll. First up we’re look at Olaf - we so want to give warm hugs!

Straight away, you’ll notice that Olaf looks perfect to his on-screen presence, even wearing his adorable ice Bow-Tie. He stands around 9” tall and comes with 5 different accessories. This is no ordinary Olaf toy though. This time around, Olaf can eat the accessories, and just like some of the comical scenes from the short movie, they pass straight through him! While Olaf digests each piece, he makes swallowing sound effects. Olaf can also talk, by a touch of his coal button on his chest. Sound effects also play when you shake Olaf from side to side which had Little SETC is fits of giggles! He’s a great addition to any Frozen fan’s collection and we think will be a huge hit this Christmas.

Next up we have the New Musical Singing Elsa doll from the new short movie. Straight away you’ll notice that Elsa is sporting a brand-new outfit. This year’s costume is a silver/grey dress with cloak featuring a more winter diamond festive design to her usual Blue costume. The dress can be removed if you are looking to dress Elsa in something else just by unfastening the Velcro at the back of the dress. The Elsa doll features a new face sculpt as well, which we love the detailing on. Elsa can sing the main song from the new short with just a press of her body. The sound chip is great and does give out a very clear version of the song. As with most dolls, this does feature your basic articulation in the legs, arms and neck, though there are no knee or elbow joints to be found. We were also able to get Elsa to stand unaided in the diamond high heel shoes which we found to be very cool. We are looking forward to now getting Anna from this collection to finish the set.

Last of all, we have our favourite new Frozen Doll. Introducing the Sing-a-Melody Elsa doll. At first glance, this may look like your normal 12” doll, but this is so much more. This time You can press parts of Elsa’s dress to hear different Key-Notes allowing you to play your favourite song from the movie. There are 2 settings to the doll, Free Play mode which allows you to play the notes to wish, and then tutorial mode that plays “Let It Go!” and lights up each note for you to press to play along. The blue snowflake shape lights look stunning and vibrant, and the sound that each key omits is crystal clear. Elsa does feature arm and neck articulation, however due to the nature of the doll, sadly no leg articulation. The face sculpt must be my favourite Elsa doll face sculpt so far. The detailing on the eyes is gorgeous as is her blush on her cheeks. Unlike other Elsa dolls, this one stands a little taller due to the nature of the doll and the costume looks as gorgeous as ever. This has got to be our favourite Frozen Elsa doll released and we cannot recommend this enough. If you are looking for the perfect Frozen doll to get someone for Christmas, this is it! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Once again, we’d like to thank Hasbro for sending these to review.
